A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS
WITH AIDS FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $656,250, FROM THE CITY OF MIAMI
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT 29TH YEAR
EMERGENCY RENTAL MORTGAGE & UTILITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM;
ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS TO THE LONG TERM TENANT -BASED RENTAL
SUBSIDY PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
AMENDMENT(S) TO THE AGREEMENT(S), IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED
FORM(S),WITH SAID AGENCIES.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 04-0377, adopted June 10, 2004, authorized the allocation of
Housing Opportunities for Persons with Aids ("HOPWA") funds for the provision of housing and
housing related services to low income individuals living with HIV/AIDS; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City"), as the grantee for the HOPWA program, with the approval
of the City Commission, subcontracted the delivery of said services to non-profit agencies; and
WHEREAS, effective October, 2004, agencies will take an active role in the inspection process by
doing their own move out walk through inspections; and
WHEREAS, because of said additional responsibility an increase in the project management fee
is recommended;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The transfer of HOPWA funds, in the amount of $656,205, from the City Department of
Community Development 29th Year Emergency Rental Mortgage & Utility Assistance Program and
the allocation of said funds to the Long Term Tenant -Based rental subsidy program, is authorized.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute an Amendment(s) to the Agreement(s), in
substantially the attached form, with said agencies.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
