Subject: Transferring Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds ($80,513) to Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of Miami, Inc. 2. Purpose of item: To provide funds to Catholic Charities to provide continual meal services to participants already enrolled in the elderly program at the Gesu Meal Canter and the Claude Pepper Center. 3. History of item: On June 10, 2004, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 04-0379 which allocated 30th year CDBG funds to Catholic Charities in the amount of $10,000 for the Gesu Meal Center and $6,487 for the Claude Pepper Center to provide meal services for the elderly. Said agency notified the City of their need for additional funding to continue to provide meals for those participants already enrolled in the program. 4. Does this item correlate with the CIP plan or Strategic Plan? If so, how? This item is in compliance with the City's Consolidated Plan approved by HUD. 5. Does this item have any effect on residents within the City of Miami? If so, how? It will provide continual meal services for the elderly participants enrolled in the Gesu Meal Center and Claude Pepper Center. 6. Will this item impact any specific District? If so, which one?
