HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-04-0754City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-04-0754 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 04-01238 Final Action Date: 11/18/2004 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") PROGRAM FUNDS, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $80,513, FROM CDBG RESERVE; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,000, TO CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF THE ARCHDIOCESES OF MIAMI, INC./GESU MEAL CENTER, AND THE AMOUNT OF $55,513, TO CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF THE ARCHDIOCESES OF MIAMI, INC./ SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY (CLAUDE PEPPER CENTER) TO PROVIDE CONTINUAL MEAL SERVICES FOR PARTICIPANTS ALREADY ENROLLED IN THE ELDERLY PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT(S) TO THE AGREEMENT(S), IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM(S), WITH SAID AGENCIES. WHEREAS, Resolution No. 04-0379, adopted June 10, 2004, authorized the allocation of Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") Program funds, in the amount of $10,000, to Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of Miami, Inc. for the Gesu Meal Center and $6,487, for the Claude Pepper Center to provide meals for the elderly; and WHEREAS, said agency notified the City of Miami of their need for additional funding to provide continual meals to participants already enrolled in the program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The transfer of CDBG Program funds, in the total amount of $80,513, from CDBG Reserve and the allocation of said funds in the amount of $25,000, to Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of Miami, Inc./Gesu Meal Center, and the amount of $55,513, to Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of Miami, Inc./Services for the Elderly (Claude Pepper Center), to provide continual services for participants already enrolled in the elderly program, is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute an Amendment(s) to the Agreement(s), in substantially the attached form(s), with said agencies. Section 4. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
