A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING A NEW
SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "FY '04 CERT (COMMUNITY EMERGENCY
RESPONSE TEAM/CITIZEN CORPS) GRANT AWARD FUND" CONSISTING OFA
GRANT FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY
AFFAIRS, FOR THE PERIOD COMMENCING JULY 1, 2004, AND ENDING
SEPTEMBER 30, 2005, FOR ADMINISTRATION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI'S CERT
MIAMI PROGRAM, IN THE AMOUNT OF $28,000; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE GRANT AWARD AND TO EXECUTE THE
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has been awarded a grant, in the amount of $28,000, for
the operation of the City's Community Emergency Response Team ("CERT") Miami Program for
Fiscal Year 2004; and
WHEREAS, said funds will be used by the Department of Fire -Rescue to acquire equipment, and
provide training, personnel and administration of the CERT Program, as stipulated in the grant award;
and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Manager to accept said grant and to establish a special
revenue fund for the appropriation of said grant award;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Fund is established and resources are
appropriated as described below:
FUND TITLE: "FY '04 (Community Emergency Response
Team/ Citizen Corps) Grant Award Fund"
RESOURCES: State of Florida, Department of $28,000
Community Affairs
APPROPRIATIONS: $28,000
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept the grant award and to execute the
necessary documents for said purpose.

Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
