HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z AnalysisPLANNING AND ZONING DEPARTMENT ANALYSIS Case No. 2004-0869 OFFICIAL VACATION AND CLOSURE OF A STREET AND ALLEY FOR THE ICE PALACE SUBDIVISION, BEING THE PORTION OF NW MIAMI COURT BETWEEN NW 14 STREET AND NW 15 STREET, THE ALLEY LOCATED IN BLOCK 41 FROM NW 14 STREET TO NW 15 STREET AND THE ALLEY LOCATED IN BLOCK 42 FROM NW 14 STREET TO THE FLORIDA EAST COAST. Pursuant to Section 55-15 (c) of the Miami City Code, the Planning and Zoning Department has reviewed the proposed right-of-way vacation to determine whether it is in the public interest, or whether the general public would benefit from the vacation of the right-of-way. The following findings have been made: • It is found that the requested street and alley closures will have public benefit in that it is located within a portion of the City's C.R.A. that has not yet seen redevelopment activity and the proposal will allow greater opportunities and flexibility in a redevelopment effort. Based on this finding, the Planning and Zoning Department recommends approval of the request.
