HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-04-0693City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-04-0693 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 04-01176 Final Action Date: 10/28/2004 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $395,000, TO BE USED AS MATCHING FUNDS AS REQUIRED FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI'S GRANT APPLICATION, ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, TO THE FLORIDA BUREAU OF HISTORIC PRESERVATION, SPECIAL CATEGORY GRANT PROGRAM ("BUREAU"), FOR HISTORICAL AND STRUCTURAL REHABILITATION PROJECT NO. B-30121, RESTORING THE HISTORIC PAN AMERICAN SEAPLANE TERMINAL ("CITY HALL"), CONTINGENT UPON: (1) THE AWARD OF SAID GRANT FUNDS; AND (2) THE CITY COMMISSION'S APPROVAL OF A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE BUREAU; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE CITY'S HISTORIC PRESERVATION INITIATIVE PROJECT NO. 327001, HOMELAND DEFENSE NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT BONDS FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") applied for $350,000 in grant funding from the Special Category Grant Program, Florida Bureau of Historic Preservation ("Bureau"), to be matched by $395,000 in existing funds, in support of the Pan American Seaplane Terminal Historical and Structural Rehabilitation Project No. B-30121; and WHEREAS, preference will be given to those projects in which the applicant documents a commitment to contribute to the total cost of the project resources equal to or greater than the amount of grant assistance requested; and WHEREAS, to be considered for an award in the next round of evaluations the City has to submit documentation substantiating the availability of the local cost share dollars prior to the Florida Historical Commission meeting on November 16, 2004, where applications will be reviewed and funding recommendations made; and WHEREAS, on September 21, 2004, the Bond Oversight Board approved the City's cost share in the amount of $395,000 from the City's Historic Preservation Initiatives Project, No. 327001 Homeland Defense Neighborhood Improvement Bonds; and WHEREAS, approval from the City Commission is also required for submission to the Florida Bureau of Historic Preservation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of funds, in an amount not to exceed $395,000, is approved, to be used City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 04-01176 (Version: 1) Printed On: 10/13/2016 File Number: 04-01176 Enactment Number: R-04-0693 as matching funds required for the City's grant application, attached and incorporated, to the Bureau's Special Category Grant program for funding in support of the historic Pan American Seaplane Terminal (City Hall) for the Historical and Structural Rehabilitation Project No. B-30121, contingent upon: (1) the award of said grant funds; and (2) the City Commission's approval of a grant agreement with the Bureau. Section 3. Said matching funds, in an amount not to exceed $395,000, are allocated from the City's Historic Preservation Initiatives Project No. 327001, Homeland Defense Neighborhood Improvement Bonds, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
