Thompson References: October 14, 2004 Agenda City Clerk Enclosures: List of members The Overtown Advisory Board was created to encourage and support historic preservation and provide recommendations to the City Commission regarding all City funded or assisted activities, developments, or improvements within the Overtown area. Five current board members' terms expired on September 14, 2004; additionally one member exceeded the number of absences allowed per City Code. Six individuals qualified as candidates, and being unopposed, no election was necessary. Pursuant to Miami Code Section 2-105, the City Commission at large has to ratify the following six elected individuals to be appointed as members of the Overtown Advisory Board: Donald F. Benjamin LaPrincycsessazatta J. Bess Del Bryan Dorothy J. Fields Claudette P. Tucker Fung-A-Fat Caldwell Joseph Additionally, LaPrincycsessazatta J. Bess and Dorothy J. Fields are employed by Miami -Dade County or a municipality therein other than the City of Miami. You are requested to waive, by a four -fifths affirmative vote of the City Commission, the provisions of City Code Sec. 2-884(e) for these two individuals. For your convenience, attached is a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting that the Agenda Office place this issue on the October 14, 2004 Commission agenda.
