HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-04-0663City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-04-0663 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 04-01047 Final Action Date: 9/28/2004 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE ANNUAL BUDGET OF THE VIRGINIA KEY BEACH PARK TRUST FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2004 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2005, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $900,976, IN GENERAL FUNDS AND AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $374,100, IN CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUNDS, FORATOTALANNUAL BUDGET AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,275,076. WHEREAS, the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust ("Trust") is a limited instrumentality of the City of Miami ("City"); and WHEREAS, the City has determined that the necessary increase in overall administrative costs related to planning and managing on -site construction, park maintenance, marketing and development, will result in the need for $900,976 in General funds for Fiscal Year 2004-2005; and WHEREAS, the City's budget staff will secure $374,100 in Capital Improvement funds related to site improvements, additional engineering, and architectural consultants related to the planning and design of the museum and cultural center at Virginia Key Beach Park; and WHEREAS, the Trust has requested this amount from the City's General Fund and Capital Improvement Fund to provide the administrative staff the support to continue the progress and improvements at Virginia Key Beach Park; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The annual budget of the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust for the Fiscal Year commencing October 1, 2004 and ending September 30, 2005, in an amount not to exceed $900,976, in General Funds and an amount not to exceed $374,100, in Capital Improvement Funds, for a total annual budget amount not to exceed $1,275,076, is approved and adopted. Section 3. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon the override of the veto by the City Commission.
