Amendment to Article 4 of Zoning Ordinance No. 11000.

Consideration of an ordinance amending Ordinance No.
11000, as amended, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of
Miami, by amending Article 4, Section 401, Schedule of
District Regulations, relating to the G/I Government and
Institutional zoning district, by permitting non
governmental and institutional uses only if ancillary to
the governmental and institutional uses permitted, and to
the extent of less intense permitted use of the abutting
property only, containing a repealer provision, a
severability clause; and providing for an effective date.
Approval.
The proposed amendment is in order to prevent
incompatible uses from occurring within low density
neighborhoods when a G/I zoned property ceases to be
used for Government and/or Institutional uses. This is
accomplished by specifying that when a G/I zoned
property is not going to be used for Government and
Institutional uses (including any associated accessory
uses), it can only be used as per the less intense abutting
zoning district.
Recommended approval (as VOTE: 8-0
modified) to City Commission.
