A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPTA DONATION, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $24,000, FROM
POSITIVE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM, INC., TO BE RECEIVED IN TWO
INSTALLMENTS OF $12,000, THE FIRST IN OCTOBER 2004, AND THE SECOND
INSTALLMENT OF $12,000 IN JANUARY 2005, TO SUPPORT THE OPERATION
AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE MAYOR'S MENTORING INITIATIVE PROGRAM AT
VIRRICK PARK; PROVIDING FOR A PROGRAM FACILITATOR, A CONFLICT
RESOLUTION CURRICULUM AND TO PURCHASE MATERIALS FOR PROGRAM
PARTICIPANTS; APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS TO THE MAYOR'S
DEPARTMENTAL IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVE FUND; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM
ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, ACCEPTING THE DONATION FOR THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF SAID PROGRAM.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA;
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept a donation, in the total amount of $24,000,
from Positive Partnership Program, Inc., to be received in two installments of $12,000, the first in
October 2004 and the second installment of $12,000 in January 2005, to support the operation and
administration of the Mayor's Mentoring Initiative Program at Virrick Park, are accepted.
Section 2. Said funds are appropriated to the Mayor's Departmental Improvement Initiative Fund
and will provide for a program facilitator, a conflict resolution curriculum and the purchase of materials
for program participants.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the necessary documents, in a form
acceptable to the City Attorney, to accept the donation for the implementation of said program.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
