RECOMMENDATION
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing
an increase of $23,347, from $239,900 to $263,247, to the existing contract with Milian, Swain Et
Associates, Inc., initially approved by Resolution 99-198 on March 23, 1999, for professional planning
and design services. Funds for the increase are to be allocated from the Capital Improvement
Project No. 322064 entitled "Riverside Riverfront Redevelopment Project".
BACKGROUND
On March 23, 1999, the City Commission adopted Resolution 99-198 approving the procurement of
professional consulting services for planning and design services from Milian, Swain Et Associates, Inc.
for the preparation of construction documents and construction administration of the Riverside
Riverfront Redevelopment Project, also known as "Lummus Landing", Project No. B-30286 (formerly
known as B-3286). Pursuant to the Resolution, the administration was allowed to Purchase said
services in an amount not to exceed $239,900.
Funds for initial services were provided from Capital Improvement Project No. 322064 "Riverside
Riverfront Redevelopment Project". Funds for the increase are to be allocated from the same
Capital Improvement Project No. 322064.
This contract increase is necessary, realizing the changing needs of the City particularly during
construction, and increases the allowance for additional services by $23,347. A corresponding
resolution for an increase in construction funds will be provided in the near future. Some of the
services provided by Milian, Swain Et Associates, Inc. include:
• Data Collection and Research;
• Market Analysis Report;
• Strategic Implementation Program;
• Environmental Permitting;
• Design Development;
• Preparation of Construction Documents;
• Contract Bidding; and
• Administration of the Construction Contract.
FISCAL IMPACT
This action will have no fiscal impact on the City as this is a budgeted item in the Capital
Improvent Pr gram.
