RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution,
with Attachment(s) authorizing the transfer of 29th year Community Development Block
Grant (CDBG) funds in the amount of $25,000 from The Children's Psychiatric Center,
Inc. to the District 5 Reserve, Public Service category.; also authorizing the transfer of
CDBG funds, in the amount of $9,637.67 from Florene Litthcut Inner- City Children's
Touring Dance Company, Inc. to District 5 Reserve, Public Service category.
BACKGROUND:
On June 24, 2003, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 03-702 and allocated
29th year CDBG funds to The Children's Psychiatric Center, Inc. in the amount of
$25,000. Said agency advised the Department of Community Development that they
were unable to attract the appropriate amount of clients to provide the contracted
services. The agency did not expend any of the monies allocated to them.
On June 10, 2004 Resolution No. 04-0373 allocated a maximum amount of $30,000 to
Florene Litthcut Inner- City Children's Touring Dance Company, Inc. Said agency
notified the Department of Community Development that they would be unable to
expend the remaining balance of their budget in the amount of $9,637.67 by September
30, 2004.
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution, with
Attachment(s), authorizing the transfer of CDBG funds in the amount of $25,000 from
The Children's Psychiatric Center, Inc. and $9,637.67 from Florene Litthcut Inner- City
Children's Touring Dance Company, Inc. to District 5 Reserve, Public Service category.
The proposed Resolution does not have a budgetary impact on the General Fund.
