HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-04-0571City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-04-0571 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 04-00810 Final Action Date: 9/9/2004 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $150,000, FROM NEPTUNE & SON RESTAURANT AND BEAUTY SHOP CORPORATION; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS TO THE DISTRICT 5 LITTLE HAITI JOB CREATION PILOT PROJECT TO IMPLEMENT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES. WHEREAS, Resolution No. 03-996, adopted September 11, 2003, authorized the allocation of $150,000 of Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") Program funds to Neptune & Son Restaurant and Beauty Shop Corporation; and WHEREAS, Neptune & Son Restaurant and Beauty Shop Corporation was unable to receive environmental clearance because of a significant concentration of dry cleaning chemicals found in the underground water of the property; and WHEREAS, said funds can be made available to those applicants that are the waiting list of the District 5 Little Haiti Job Creation Pilot Project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The transfer of CDBG Program funds, in the amount of $150,000, from Neptune & Son Restaurant and Beauty Shop Corporation and the allocation of said funds to the District 5 Little Haiti Job Creation Pilot Project to implement economic development activities, is authorized. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor {1}. Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
