A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, ESTABLISHING A NEW
SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "OVERTOWN TECHNICAL SUPPORT
FUND" TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO THE OVERTOWN AREA FOR
TRANSPORTATION -RELATED PROJECTS, CONSISTING OF GRANT FUNDS
FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ("FDOT" ), IN THE
AMOUNT OF $60,000; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY,
TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT.
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") has approved the obligation of
funds in the amount of $60,000 to provide funds for independent technical support related to
transportation projects to leadership groups in the community of Overtown; and
WHEREAS, said funds are to be appropriated into a new special revenue fund, entitled:
"Overtown Technical Support Fund," in the amount of $60,000; and
WHEREAS, it will be necessary for the City Manager to accept the grant from FDOT and to
execute the necessary documents on behalf of the City for this purpose;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The following Special Revenue Fund is established and resources are appropriated as
described below:
FUND TITLE: Overtown Technical Support Fund
RESOURCES: FDOT $60,000
APPROPRIATION: $60,000
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the necessary documents, in a form
acceptable to the City Attorney, to implement acceptance of said grant.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
