HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-04-0556City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-04-0556 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 04-00970 Final Action Date: 9/9/2004 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE CONTRACT AWARDED TO TEMPTROLAIR CONDITIONING, PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 02-840, ADOPTED JULY 25, 2002, FOR THE PROVISION OF AIR CONDITIONING MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $10,000, FOR THE SECOND AND THIRD CONTRACT YEAR, INCREASING THE CONTRACT FROM $46,840 TO $56,840; ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR SAID INCREASE FROM GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET ACCOUNT CODE NO. 001000.290201.6.670; AND AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 02-840, TO REFLECT SAID INCREASE. WHEREAS, Resolution No. 02-840, adopted July 25, 2002, accepted the bid of Temptrol Air Conditioning, Inc., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, for the provision of air conditioning maintenance services at various Police Department facilities on an as -needed contract basis, for a one-year period, with the option to extend for two additional one-year periods, in an annual amount not to exceed $46,840, with funds allocated from the Police General Operating Budget, Account Code No. 001000.290201.6.670; and WHEREAS, the Department of Police requires an increase to cover the cost of repair services to include parts, labor, and materials, for the air conditioning systems at various Police facilities, on an as -needed basis; and WHEREAS, the Central Headquarters Building's 28 year old air conditioning system's repairs has consumed a surmountable amount of the funds allocated in this contract for said services; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. An increase in the contract awarded to Temptrol Air Conditioning pursuant to Resolution No. 02-840, adopted July 25, 2002, for the provision of air conditioning maintenance services for the Department of Police, in an amount not to exceed $10,000, increasing the amount for the second and third year of the contract from $46,840 to $56,840 annually, is authorized. Section 3. The bid of Temptrol Air Conditioning, Inc., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder pursuant to Invitation for Bids No. 01-02-127, dated June 5, 2002, for the provision of air conditioning maintenance and repair services at various Police Department facilities, on an as -needed contract basis, for a period of one year, with the option to extend for two additional one-year periods, in an annual amount not to exceed $46,840-$56,840, is accepted, with funds allocated from the Police General Operating Budget, Account No. 001000.290201.6.670. *If Section 4. Funds, in an amount not to exceed $10,000, are allocated from the Police General Operating Budget, Account No. 001000.290201.6.670. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} Footnotes: {1} Words/and or figures stricken through shall be deleted. Underscored words and/or figures shall be added. The remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged. Asterisks indicate omitted and unchanged material. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
