HomeMy WebLinkAboutpre ordinance1-96-I198 11/14/96 ORDINANCE NO. 1.1418 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A 'SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "PARTNERSHIP FUND" AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED 325,000.00, TO SAID FUND; AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE TO ACCEPT MONETARY DONATIONS FROM VARIOUS PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS TO BE DEPOSITED IN SAID FUND; AND TO EXPEND SAID FUNDS ON COMMUNITY EVENTS SPONSORED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND SEVERABILITY CLAUSE WHEREAS, the City of Miami Police Deprutmcnt sponsors numerous r:urwnity events; and WHEREAS, various private organizations are and have been willing to make a monetary donation to offset costa associated with producing suchc+gtts; and WHEREAS, this `partnership" benefits the community ns a whole; and WHEREAS, any equipment/services purchases will still be required to comply with established procurement procedures; and WHEREAS, the Chief of Police recommends the adoption of this Ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and Endings contained in the Preamble to this Ordinance are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if Mfy sat forth in this Section. 11418 Section 2. The following Special Revenue Fund is hereby established and resources are hereby appropriated as described herein: FUND TITLE: PARTNERSHIP FUND RESOURCES; Donations S25,000,00 APPROPRIATIONS: Partnership Fund $25,000,00 Section 3. The Department of Police is hereby authorized to accept monetary donations from various private organizations to be deposited in said fund and to expend Bald trends on community events sponsored by the Department of Police. Section 4, All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances insofar as they are incon`istent or in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed Section 5. If any section, put of section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this Ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be afflicted. Section 6. This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days alter final reading and adoption thereof. PASSED ON FIRST READINO BY TITLE ONLY this 2.1s t day of November 1996.
