HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-12580City of Miami Legislation Ordinance: 12580 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 04-00703 Final Action Date: 7/29/2004 AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 11418, AS AMENDED, ADOPTED DECEMBER 12, 1996, WHICH ESTABLISHED INITIAL RESOURCES AND APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED, "PARTNERSHIP FUND;" INCREASING THE APPROPRIATIONS IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $17,208, CONSISTING OF DONATIONS FROM VARIOUS PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS; AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE ("POLICE") TO ACCEPT DONATIONS FROM VARIOUS PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS TO BE DEPOSITED IN SAID SPECIAL REVENUE FUND; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF SAID FUNDS TO SPONSOR NUMEROUS COMMUNITY EVENTS AND IN-HOUSE PROGRAMS, INCLUDING THE PUBLICATION OF THE DEPARTMENT'S ANNUAL REPORT; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami's Department of Police sponsors numerous community events, and in-house programs, including the publication of the Department of Police's Annual Report; and WHEREAS, various private organizations make monetary donations to offset costs associated with these purposes; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 11418, adopted December 12, 1996, established initial resources and appropriations for the Special Revenue Fund entitled "Partnership Fund," in the amount of $25,000, as a depository for the acceptance of monetary donations; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 11418, was amended by Ordinance No. 11891, on February 10, 2000, to increase the Special Revenue Fund by $25,000, from $25,000 to $50,000; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 11418, was further amended by Ordinance No. 12362, on May 8th, 2003, to increase the Special Revenue Fund by $26,899, from $50,000 to $76,899; and WHEREAS, the continued acceptance and expenditure of said funds and future donations are authorized by the City Commission; and WHEREAS, all purchases must comply with applicable City Code purchasing requirements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Ordinance are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 11418, adopted December 12, 1996, amended by City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 04-00703 (Version: 2) Printed On: 9/28/2016 File Number: 04-00703 Enactment Number: 12580 Ordinance No. 11891, adopted February 10, 2000, and by Ordinance No. 12362, adopted on May 8th, 2003, which established resources and appropriations for the Special Revenue Fund entitled "Partnership Fund," is further amended in the following particulars:{1} "ORDINANCE NO. 11418" FUND TITLE: PARTNERSHIP FUND RESOURCES: Donations $76,899.00 $94,107.00 APPROPRIATIONS: Partnership Fund $76,899.00 $94,107.00 *11 Section 3. The continued acceptance of donations from various private organizations is authorized to be deposited into said Special Revenue Fund. Section 4. The expenditure of said funds is authorized for community events and in-house programs, including the publication of the Department of Police's Annual Report, subject to compliance with all City Code procurement procedures. Section 5. All Ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are repealed. Section 6. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this Ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected. Section 7. This Ordinance shall become effective thirty days after final reading and adoption.{2} Footnotes: {1} Words and/or figures stricken through shall be deleted. Underscored words and/or figures shall be added. The remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged. Asterisks indicate omitted and unchanged material. {2} This Ordinance shall become effective as specified herein unless vetoes by the Mayor within ten days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Ordinance, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon the effective date stated herein, whichever is later.
