RECOMMENDATION
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution authorizing an
increase in the contract awarded to Condo Electric Motor Repair, Inc. pursuant to Resolution No. 00-655,
adopted July 27, 2000, amended by Resolution No. 02-166, adopted February 14, 2002, in an amount not to
exceed $ 41,139, from $118,783.32 to $159,922.32, for additional work performed by the contractor on the
maintenance services of the City's storm water pump stations, allocating funds for said increase from the Public
Works General Operating Budget Account Nos. 001000.310101.6.340.27012 and 001000.310201.6340.34039.
This increase shall amend Resolution No. 02-166 to reflect said increase in an amount not to exceed $41,139.
BACKGROUND
On February 14, 2002, the City Commission approved Resolution 02-166 authorizing an increase to the contract
between the City and Condo Electric Motor Repair, Inc. for additional work performed for the operation and
maintenance of the four City's Storm Sewer Pump Stations. Maintenance and repair costs during the past year
have been more than anticipated. Maintenance services for these pump stations are necessary to ensure that the
pumps are operational to prevent flooding and to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the
City.
