HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-04-0464City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-04-0464 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 04-00807 Final Action Date: 7/8/2004 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION DIRECTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A NON -DEPARTMENTAL ACCOUNT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO SUPPORT POLICE SERVICES FOR THE QUALITY OF LIFE INITIATIVE EVENTS HELD IN CITY PARKS AND NEIGHBORHOOD OPEN SPACES, PUBLIC RIGHTS -OF -WAY OR OTHER SUCH GOVERNMENT OWNED PROPERTIES; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT TO BE DETERMINED BY THE CITY MANAGER, FOR THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND CODE ENFORCEMENT QUALITY OF LIFE INITIATIVES TO BE DIVIDED EQUALLY AND USED AT THE DISCRETION OF EACH DISTRICT COMMISSIONER, THE MAYOR AND THE CITY MANAGER FOR PLANNED EVENTS; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO PRESENTA RESOLUTION WITH THE REQUESTED AMOUNTS AT THE CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF JULY 22, 2004. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The establishment of a non -departmental account and the appropriation of funds for the purpose of supporting police services related to the Quality of Life initiative and supporting police services for events in City parks and neighborhood open spaces, public rights -of -way or other such government owned properties, is directed. Section 2. The appropriation of funds, in an amount to be determined by the City Manager, for the Department of Police and Department of Code Enforcement Quality of Life Initiatives to be divided equally and used at the discretion of each district Commissioner, the Mayor and the City Manager for planned events, is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is further directed to present a Resolution with the requested amounts at the City Commission meeting of July 22, 2004. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
