HomeMy WebLinkAboutArticle III - Tab F - Minority Construction Employment Plan• • FLAGSTONE ISLAND GARDENS MINORITY CONSTRUCTION EMPLOYMENT PLAN Major Use Special Permit It is the policy of the Applicant to base its employee hiring as web as its vendor and contractor hiring on merit, qualifications and competency and that its personnel practices will not be influenced by an applicant's or employee's race, color, place of birth, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran and handicapped status. One of the principles of the Applicant's management practices is to ensure that the following personnel procedures are being satisfied: 1. Take every action to attract and retain qualified e.mpioyees, regardless of race, color, place of birth, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran and handicapped status. Maintain equitable principles in the recruitment, hiring, training, compensation and promotion of employees. 3. Monitor and review personnel practices to guarantee that equal opportunities are being provided to all employees, regardless of race, color, place of birth, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran and handicapped status. The Applicant is committed to take affirmative action and aggressively pursue activities that will serve to enable all employees, vendors and contractors opportunities for employment within the Applicant's organization. Specifically, the Applicant shall utilize the following to achieve the above -referenced Policy: I. PROMOTION PROCEDURES The Applicant will maintain equitable principles in the promotion of employees and is committed to comply with Section 18-110 of the City of Miami Code to foster participation in the construction and operation of the Project by Low Income Individuals who are Residents of the City of Miami and Miami -Dade County, including, but not limited to, those who are participants of South Florida Workforce training and employment programs. • • • 4. UTILIZATION OF LOCAL MINORITY BUSINESSES The Applicant will endeavor to utilize minority -owned firms. Furthermore, it will require all of its contractors to also solicit and utilize to the fullest extent possible minority -owned subcontractors and vendors.
