This Resolution re -imposes the Solid Waste assessments against assessed property located within. the City of Miami for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2004, directs the preparation of an assessment roll, authorizes a public hearing for September 9, 2004, directs the provision of notice and has an effective date. EACKGROUN} Upon the imposition of Solid Waste Assessments for solid waste services, facilities, or program against Assessed Property located within the City, the City shall provide solid waste services to such assessed property. A portion of the cost to provide such solid waste services, facilities or programs shall be funded from proceeds of the Solid Waste Assessments. Tha remaining cost required to provide solid waste services, facilities, and programs shall be funded by available City revenues other than Solid waste Assessment proceeds. This resolution further provides definitions for terms used in Solid Waste Assessrruant legislation and determines a public hearing date with provision of notice. This Resolution constitutes the Preliminary Rate Resolution for PY 2004-2005 as defined in Ordinance No, 11584, adopted January 13, 1998, which initiated the process for updating the Assessment Roll and directed the re -imposition of Solid Waste Assessments on an annual basis, pursuant to Section 197,3632 and 197.3635, Florida Statutes.
