A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE
BAYFRONT PARK MANAGEMENT TRUST ("TRUST") TO TAKE ALL NECESSARY
STEPS TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR AND RENOVATION OF THE LIBERTY
COLUMN MONUMENT, INCLUDING, ACCEPTING AND UTILIZING FUNDS
RAISED THROUGH PRIVATE AND COMMUNITY BASED FUNDRAISING APPEALS,
AS WELL AS RESOURCES AVAILABLE THROUGH THE TRUST'S CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT BUDGET; FURTHER DIRECTING THE TRUST TO WORK IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE COMMUNITY GROUPS FOR THE RESTORATION OF
THE MONUMENT; ALLOCATING FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $100,
FROM THE DISTRICT 3 OFFICE ACCOUNT NO. 00100.920918.6.930, TO "SAVE
THE HANDS" C/O PREMIER COMMUNITY BANK, 12405 TAFT STREET,
PEMBROKE PINES, FLORIDA, 33028, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Miami City Commission authorizes the Bayfront Park Management Trust ("Trust")
to take all necessary steps to complete the repair and renovation of the Liberty Column Monument,
including, accepting and utilizing funds raised through private and community based fundraising
appeals, as well as resources available through the Trust's Capital Improvement budget.
Section 2. The Trust is directed to work in conjunction with the community groups for the
restoration of the Monument.
Section 3. Funds, in an amount not to exceed $100, are allocated from the District 3 Office
Account No. 00100.920918.6.930, to "Save the Hands" c/o Premier Community Bank, 12405 Taft
Street, Pembroke Pines, Florida, 33028, for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}
Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (1)
calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it
shall become effective immediately upon the override of the veto by the City Commission.
