HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-04-0402City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-04-0402 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 04-00628 Final Action Date: 6/24/2004 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "PROGRAMS FOR THE DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED, 2004 -2005" AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR ITS OPERATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $243,744, CONSISTING OF A GRANT IN AN AMOUNT OF $9,720, FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES AND A SECOND GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $234,024, FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDAAGENCY FOR HEALTH CARE ADMINISTRATION, MEDICAID PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT TO FUND PROGRAMS FOR THE DEVEL OPMENTALLY DISABLED, WHICH ARE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI'S DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION THROUGH ITS PROGRAMS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES DURING THE PERIOD OF JULY 1, 2004 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2005; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE GRANTS AND TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANTS. WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation through its Programs for Persons with Disabilities, has for the past twenty-six (26) years applied to the State of Florida Department of Children and Families("DCF"), for funds to support its programs for the coming year; and WHEREAS, DCF is again expected to award the City of Miami ("City") an estimated amount of $9,720 for services to be provided to developmentally disabled individuals during the period of July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005; and WHEREAS, the State of Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration, Medicaid Program Development will provide another agreement in the amount of $234,024; and WHEREAS, the aggregate of these funds, in the total estimated amount of $243,744 will allow the program to continue throughout June 30, 2005; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Fund is established as described below: City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 04-00628 (Version: 2) Printed On: 9/16/2016 File Number: 04-00628 Enactment Number: R-04-0402 FUND TITLE: RESOURCES: Programs for the Developmentally Disabled, 2004-2005 State of Florida Department of Children and Families $9,720 State of Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration, Medicaid Program Development $234,024 APPROPRIATION: Programs for the Developmentally Disabled, 2004-2005 $243,744 Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept a grant in an amount of $9,720, from the State of Florida Department of Children and Families and a grant in an amount of $234,024, from the State of Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, Medicaid Program Development to fund programs for the developmentally disabled, which are administered by the City's Department of Parks and Recreation through its Program for Persons with Disabilities during the period of July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005, and to execute the necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, to implement acceptance of said grants. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
