HomeMy WebLinkAboutcover memoCITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM ei6r TO: The Honorable Mayor and Members Of the City Commission FRJoe Arriola City Manager DATE: JUN - 7 2004 FILE: B-50690 SUBJECT: "N.E. 71 Street Storm Sewers Project, B-50690" REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: Five (5) Documents RECOMMENDATION The Department of Capital Improvements requires City Commission approval of a Supplemental Work Order Authorization with Metric Engineering, Inc., selected from the list of pre -approved general engineering firms, for professional engineering services to the project entitled "N.E. 71 Street Storm Sewers Project, B-50690", increasing the professional engineering fees in an amount not to exceed $ 20,250 from $ 75,000 to $ 95,250; authorizing the. City Manager to execute a Supplemental Work Order Authorization for said purpose; allocating funds from CIP No. 352218 entitled "Citywide Local Drainage Projects FY 02-06". BACKGROUND The Department of Capital Improvements requires City Commission approval of a Supplemental Work Order Authorization with a general engineering consulting firm for additional professional engineering services and expenses incurred by the City. The original scope of work for design services to the existing project entitled "N.E. 71 Street Storm Sewers Project, B-50690" needs to be expanded in order to properly address the drainage problems located and bounded by N.E. 69 Street, N.E. 72 Street, Biscayne Bay and Biscayne Boulevard. Due to the inclusion of this additional design work, supplemental engineering services are required in an amount not to exceed $ 20,250. The included Work Order Authorization, Exhibit "A", contains the scope of services for the supplemental engineering work. The Work Order Authorization is additionally subject to all terms and conditions of its exhibits and the Professional Services Agreement between the City and Metric Engineering, Inc., Inc. dated May 13, 2002 pursuant Resolution No. 02-144 authorized by the City Commission Meeting of February 14, 2002. Funds for the professional services have been identified from CIP Account No. 352216 entitled "Citywide Local Drainage Projects FY 02-061 .
