A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION DIRECTING THE OFFICE
OF THE AUDITOR GENERAL, WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE OFFICES OF
THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY ATTORNEY, TO CONDUCT A COMPLETE
AUDIT OF THE SOUTH FLORIDA EMPLOYMENT CONSORTIUM WORKFORCE
CENTERS USING PUBLIC RECORDS AND ANY OTHER AVAILABLE
RESOURCES; DIRECTING THAT ALL PUBLIC RECORDS REQUESTS TO
OBTAIN DOCUMENTS BE UNDERTAKEN WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE
CITY ATTORNEY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO TAKE ANY AND ALL
ACTIONS NECESSARY, IN LAW OR IN EQUITY, TO ACCOMPLISH SUCH
PURPOSE; AUTHORIZING THE ENGAGEMENT OF OUTSIDE COUNSEL, IF
NECESSARY, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000; AND DIRECTING
THE AUDITOR GENERAL TO PRESENT A STATUS REPORT AT THE MIAMI CITY
COMMISSION MEETING OF JULY 22, 2004.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Office of the Auditor General, with the assistance of the Offices of the City
Manager and City Attorney, is directed to conduct a complete audit of the South Florida
Employment Consortium Workforce Centers using public records and any other available
resources.
Section 2. It is directed that all public records requests to obtain documents be undertaken with
the assistance of the City Attorney.
Section 3. The City Attorney is authorized to take any and all actions necessary, in law or in
equity, to accomplish such purpose.
Section 4. The engagement of outside counsel, if necessary, in an amount not to exceed
$25,000, is authorized.
Section 5. It is also directed that the Auditor General present a status report of its review at the
Miami City Commission meeting of July 22, 2004.
Section 6. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor.{1}

Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
