HomeMy WebLinkAboutcover memoCITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM TO: The Honorable Mayor and Members Of the City Commission FROM: Joe Amola zirit City Manager o m-AY - 6 2004 FILE: B-50692 SUBJECT: "Liberty City Drainage Improvements Project, Phase 1, B-50692" REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: Five (5) Documents RECOMMENDATION The Department of Capital Improvements requires City Commission approval of a Supplemental Work Order Authorization with Marlin Engineering, Inc., selected from the list of pre -approved general engineering firms, for professional engineering services to the project entitled "Liberty City Drainage Improvements Project, Phase I, B-50692", increasing the professional engineering fees in an amount not to exceed $ 13,416.00 from $ 180,380.00 to $ 193,796.00; authorizing the City Manager to execute a Supplemental Work Order Authorization for said purpose; allocating funds from CIP No. 313855 entitled "October 2000 Flood Disaster Recovery" and CIP No. 352231 entitled "Stormwater Utility Trust Funds". BACKGROUND The Department of Capital Improvements requires City Commission approval of a Supplemental Work Order Authorization with a general engineering consulting firm for additional professional engineering services and expenses incurred by the City. The original scope of work for design services to the existing project entitled "Liberty City Drainage Improvements Project, Phase I, B-50692" needs to be expanded to address drainage improvements to the flooding location of NW 59th Street between NW 2nd Avenue and NW 3`d Avenue. Due to the inclusion of this flooding location, supplemental engineering services are required in an amount not to exceed $ 13,418.00. The included Work Order Authorization, Attachment "A", contains the scope of services for the supplemental engineering work. The Work Order Authorization is additionally subject to all terms and conditions of its exhibits and the Professional Services Agreement between the City and Marlin Engineering, Inc., Inc. dated May 16, 2002 pursuant Resolution No. 02-144 authorized by the City Commission Meeting of February 14, 2002. Funds for the professional services have been identified from CIP Account No. 313855 entitled "October 2000 Flood Disaster Recovery" and CIP No. 352231 entitled "Stormwater Utility Trust Funds".
