RECOMMENDATION
The City of Miami Street Codesignation Committee recommends that the City of Miami
Commission adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the street codesignation of SW
26th Avenue from SW 28th Street to South Dixie Highway as "Scornavacca Avenue."
BACKGROUND
If any one person epitomized the Coconut Grove of today it was Tony Scornavacca. A
northern transplant to Miami, Tony was an artist of uncompromising integrity who lent
his talent, vibrancy and persona to help create the artistic vision that Coconut Grove has
become. A founder of the Coconut Grove Art Festival, he dedicated his life to his art and
his village, leaving behind a body of work that extends far beyond his paintings.
Fiscal Impact: None
