(File No. 04-0 27)) The attached Resolution seeks authorization for the continued engagement of the law firm of Weiss Serota Helfman Pastoriza & Guedes, P.A. for representation of the City of Miami, in the amount of $100,000 plus costs as approved by the City Attorney, in cases related to the defense of the City of Miami Parking Surcharge Ordinance, including but not limited to: Ampco System Parking, Inc., et al. vs. City of Miami, Case No. 01-27582 CA (15), Park A. Partners, Ltd., et al. vs. City of Miami, Case No. 01-20074 CA (06), and Patrick McGrath, III' et al, vs. City of Miami, Case No. 99-23765 CA (10), all in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in and for Miami -Dade County, Florida. To date, funds allocated for this litigation totals $199,500. Upon my initial engagement, $4,500 was allocated, Resolution No. 00-450 allocated $70,000, Resolution No, 01-228 allocated $100,000, Resolution No. 02-145 allocated $10,000, Resolution No. 02-737 allocated $15,000, Resolution No. 03-014 allocated 100,000 and Resolution No. 03- 512 allocated $30,000. Approval of this Resolution will bring the total amount allocated to $429,500. Funds are available from the Self -Insurance and Insurance Trust Fund, Index Code No. 515001.624401.6.661, for said services. W1035:tr:AS c: Joe Arriola, City Manager Elvi. G.
