HomeMy WebLinkAboutP&Z AnalysisPLANNING AND ZONING DEPARTMENT ANALYSIS Case No. 2004-0790 VACATION AND CLOSURE OF A PORTION OF ALLEY LOCATED BETWEEN NW 17th STREET AND NW 18th STREET, WESTERLY ON NW 14th AVENUE. Pursuant to Section 55-15 (c) of the Miami City Code, the Planning and Zoning Department has reviewed the proposed right-of-way vacation to determine whether it is in the public interest, or whether the general public would benefit from the vacation of the right-of-way. The following findings have been made: ✓ It is found that the proposed alley to be vacated is located within the boundaries of City of Miami -owned property for a multifamily residential development within a Community Revitalization District (CRD) in Allapattah. • It is found that the vacation of the alley is required to complete the multifamily residential project more specifically known as, "Wagner Square". • It is found that the project will result in new housing opportunities in a Community Revitalization District. • It is found that the proposed vacation of the right of way is therefore in the public interest. Based on these findings, the Planning and Zoning Department recommends approval of the request.
