A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING A NEW
SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "MIAMI DADE COLLEGE GRANT FOR
JOSE MARTI PARK RECREATION BUILDING" AND APPROPRIATING A GRANT
AWARD IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $161,681, FROM MIAMI DADE
COLLEGE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW RECREATION BUILDING AT
JOSE MARTI PARK AND/OR EQUIPMENT AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT SAID GRANT AWARD AND
TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO
THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the new recreation building at Jose Marti Park is approximately 12,000 square feet
and was constructed by the City of Miami ("City") for approximately $1.6 million; and
WHEREAS, Miami Dade College through a grant from the United States Department of
Housing and Urban Development, is providing the City with a grant in the amount not to exceed
$161,681, to be used toward the construction and/or purchase of equipment and/or educational
services for the new recreation building at Jose Marti Park;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Fund to fund the construction of the new
recreation building at Jose Marti Park and/or equipment and educational services, is established
and resources are appropriated as described below:
FUND TITLE: Miami Dade College Grant for Jose Marti Park Recreation Building
RESOURCES: Miami Dade College $161,681
APPROPRIATION: Miami Dade College Grant for Jose Marti Park Recreation Building $161,681
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept said grant award and to execute the
necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor.{2}

{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
