RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution
accepting the bid of AUGUST CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC., a company located within
the City of Miami with offices at 7341 NW 32nd Ave Miami, Florida 33147, whose principal
is Mr. Ivanhoe T. Henney, President, for uRIVERVIEW STORMWATER PUMP STATION
UPGRADES (3RD BIDDING, ROOF), B-5650A, received on March 2, 2004 in the amount of
$105,326 Total Bid; authorizing the City Manager to enter Into a contract on behalf of the
City.

Discussion: The Department of Public Works has evaluated the bids received on March 2,
2004, and determined that the lowest responsible and responsive bid, in the amount of
$105,326 is from August Construction Company, Inc. a Black -Minority controlled
Corporation. Funds are available to cover the contract cost, and for such incidental items
as postage, blueprinting, advertising, reproduction costs, testing, etc.
