ENCLOSURES:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached
Resolution that will amend Resolution No, 03-417 by identifying additional funds
under Capital Improvements Program ("CIP") Project No. 341206 to cover the
remaining design costs.
BACKGROUND
On May 8th, 2003, the City Commission adopted Resolution 03-417, authorizing the
City Manager to engage Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., for professional services in
reference to the project entitled "Bryan Park Improvements, B-3303". The scope of
work consists of park improvements and improvements to the right-of-ways
surrounding the park. Pursuant to Resolution 03-417, Homeland Defense Bonds in CIP
Project No. 331419 were identified as the funding source to cover the design costs.
After the Resolution was passed, a portion of the $60,000.00 allocation for Bryan Park
under the Homeland Defense Bond Program was used for other improvements to the
park. The remaining balance of $38,410.00 from CIP Project No. 331419 is insufficient
to cover the total design cost of $51,056.00 that includes Kimley-Horn's design fees,
survey of the park and right-of-way surround the park and geotechnical tests of the
soil. Therefore, allocated funds from CIP Project No. 341206 are needed to cover the
remaining $12,646.00 in design costs.
