RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution de -
obligating 28t1i Year Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds in the amount of
$40,000 for the capital improvement project and 29th Year CDBG funds in the amount of
$40,000 for public facilities and improvements in District 3, for a total amount of $80,000, from
The Latin Quarter Cultural Center of Miami, Inc. (LQCC) and reallocating said funds to the
Little Havana Home Ownership Zone Trust for the development of housing.
BACKGROUND:
On October 10, 2002, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 02-1133 allocating 28th Year
CDBG funds, including funds in the amount of $40,000 to LQCC for their capital improvement
project in District 3. On December 18, 2003, the City Commission adopter Resolution No. 03-
1245 allocated 29th Year CDBG funds, including funds in the amount of $40,000 to LQCC for
public facilities and improvements in District 3. The Little Havana Home Ownership Zone Trust
was created on May 8, 2003 as authorized by the City Commission through the adoption of
Resolution No. 03-454.

It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution de -obligating 28th

total amount of $80,000, from LQCC and reallocating said funds to the Little Havana Home

The proposed Resolution reallocates CDBG Program funds and does not have a budgetary
im ac the General Fund.
