HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-04-0219City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-04-0219 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 04-00281 Final Action Date: 4/8/2004 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), DECLARING THE FURNITURE ITEMS ON THE FURNITURE LIST, ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, UTILIZED BY VARIOUS CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENTS, AS "CATEGORY A" SURPLUS STOCK; DONATING SAID ITEMS TO HOLMES ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, IN SUPPORT OF THE MAYOR'S MENTORING INITIATIVE. WHEREAS, the Chief Procurement Officer has declared furniture received from various City of Miami ("City") departments itemized in the attached list as surplus; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the City Procurement Code, a surplus declared as "Category A" stock shall be available for disposition as the City's contribution or the City's commitment in support of a particular public purpose which may include those community civic or social service programs as may be authorized by the City Commission; and WHEREAS, the Mayor respectfully requests authorization by the City Commission to donate the furniture items on the Furniture List, attached and incorporated, declared as Category "A" surplus items to Holmes Elementary in support of the Mayor's Mentoring Initiative, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The furniture items listed on the Furniture List, attached and incorporated, utilized by various City Departments are declared "Category A" Surplus Stock, and are donated to Holmes Elementary School, in support of the Mayor's Mentoring Initiative. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
