HomeMy WebLinkAboutConstruction Engineering & InspectionMARLI ENGINEERING City of Miami Construction Engineering and Inspection NW 14 Street Improvement Project Purpose: This scope of work describes the services which are required for construction engineering and inspection, materials sampling and testing, and contract administration for the construction project listed below. Exhibit Al: Scope of Service Exhibit B 1: Length of Service Exhibit Cl : Fee Estimate Exhibit Al: Scope of Service Scope: The Consultant will act as support service to the City of Miami Project Engineer and staff. The Consultant will utilize effective control procedures which will assure that the construction of the project is performed in conformity with the plans, specifications, and contract provisions. The project for which the services are required is: Project limits: NW 14 St. from NW 22 Ave. to NW 34 Ave. County: Miami Dade This project involves the Milling and Resurfacing of NW 14 St. with the addition of sidewalk, ped-ramps and turf block as well as miscellaneous upgrades at NW 34 Ave underneath SR 836 which include drainage improvements as well as improvements to sidewalk as specified in plan. Items to be furnished by the City of Miami: The City on an as needed basis will furnish the following items. 1-set of Construction Plans 1-set of Specifications and Special Provisions 1-copy of executed contract The Consultant shall submit a request in writing for these above mentioned items from the City's Project Engineer. (305) 477-7575 Fax (305) 477-7590 Field Office: Engineers field office: Marlin Engineering, Inc. 2191 NW 97 Ave Miami Fl, 33172 Requirements: It shall be the responsibility of the Consultant to provide required services in order for the City's Project Engineer to administer the Contract to assure that the project is constructed in reasonable conformity with the plans, and specifications. The consultant shall observe the Contractor during various operations to ensure the materials and methods used by the contractor conform to the specifications of the contract. The Consultant shall notify the City of any omissions, substitutions, defects, and deficiencies noted in the work of the Contractor and the corrective action taken. Work provided by the Consultant shall not relieve the contractor of responsibility for the satisfactory performance of the construction. On -site Inspections: The Consultant and City inspection personnel shall monitor the Contractors onsite construction operations and inspect materials entering into the work as required to assure that the projects are completed in reasonable conformity with the plans, and specifications. The Consultant shall keep detailed accurate records of the Contractors daily operations and of significant events that affect the work. Testing: The Consultant and City's Project Engineer shall perform sampling and testing of all component materials and completed work items to the extent that will assure that the materials and workmanship incorporated in each task are in reasonable conformity with the plans and specifications. Documentation reports on sampling and testing shall be submitted to responsible parties the same week that the construction work is done or as otherwise directed by the City's Project Engineer. Personnel: The Consultant shall provided qualified personnel necessary to efficiently and effectively carry out its responsibilities under this Agreement. As per the approved estimate the Consultant shall provide: Project Manager 1 Construction Manager Sup. 1 Const. Inspector 1 Clerical 1 Exhibit B1: Length of Services: Length of Services: The consultant services for the contract will begin upon written notification to proceed by the City of Miami. For estimating purposes the consultant will be allowed an accumulation of twenty-one (21) working days to assist the City Project Engineer prior to the Contractors first contract day and thirty (30) calendar days subsequent final acceptance of the contract to be completed.
