HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-04-0213City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-04-0213 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 04-00263 Final Action Date: 4/8/2004 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE CONTRACT AWARDED TO UNITECH BUILDERS, CORP., PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 02-902, FURTHER AMENDED BY RESOLUTION NO. 03-680, ADOPTED JUNE 12, 2003, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW RECREATION BUILDING AT JOSE MARTI PARK, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $50,000, FROM $1,618,720 TO $1,668,720, TO COVER THE COSTS OF LANDSCAPING AND A NEW FLOOR FOR THE AEROBIC/DANCE ROOM IN THE BUILDING; ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR SAID INCREASE FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT NO. 331419; AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 03-680, ADOPTED JUNE 12, 2003, TO REFLECT SAID INCREASE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. An increase in the contract awarded to Unitech Builders, Corp., pursuant to Resolution No. 02-902, further amended by Resolution No. 03-680, approved June 12, 2003, in an amount not to exceed $50,000, from $1,618,720 to $1,668,720, for construction of a new recreation building at Jose Marti Park, for landscaping and a new floor for the aerobic/dance room, is authorized, with funds for said increase allocated from Capital Improvements Project No. 331419. Section 2. Resolution No. 02-902 amended by Resolution No. 03-680, adopted June 12, 2003, is further amended in the following particulars to reflect said increase in an amount not to exceed $50,000.{1} "RESOLUTION NO. 03-680 Section 2. An increase in the contract for unanticipated additional contract costs for construction of the new recreation building, in an amount not to exceed $100,000 $50,000 from $1,518,720 $1,618,720 to $1,668,720, is authorized. Section 3. The total estimated project costs of $1,976,393.20 $2,026,393.20 are allocated from Capital Improvements Project Nos. 331385 and 331419. Section 4. The total project costs consist of the $1,618,720 $1,668,720 for the contract costs and $357,673.20 for estimated expenses incurred by the City. The City Manger is authorized{2} to execute the necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{3} Footnotes: {1} Words/and or figures stricken through shall be deleted. Underscored words and/or figures shall be added. The remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged. Asterisks indicate omitted and unchanged material. {2} The herein authorization is further subject to complying with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {3} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
