RECOMMENDATION:
The administration recommends that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution
authorizing the City Manager to execute a Grant of Easement on City -owned property located at
2640 South Bayshore Drive, Miami, Florida, in substantially the attached form, to Bellsouth
Telecommunications, Inc. (Bellsouth), of a ten (10) foot wide strip, as more particularly
described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, for a perpetual, non-exclusive
easement on the property, to construct, operate, maintain, add, and/or remove such systems of
communication, facilities, stand-by generators and associated fuel supply systems as a means of
providing uninterrupted service during commercial power outages.
BACKGROUND:
Bellsouth has requested the grant of a ten (10) foot wide strip easement on City -owned property
for the construction, operation and maintenance of communication systems in connection with
the development of Grove Harbour Marina and Caribbean Marketplace. This easement will be
used to construct, operate, maintain, add, and/or remove such systems of communication,
facilities, stand-by generators and associated fuel supply systems as a means of providing
uninterrupted service during commercial power outages.
The easement shall further contain a reverter provision that if the easement is abandoned or
discontinued, the easement shall cease and revert back to the City.
Financial Impact: There is no impact to the general fund of the City since Grove Harbour
Marina is responsible for any expenses associated with the construction of this easement.
