HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-04-0159City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-04-0159 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 04-00246 Final Action Date: 3/11/2004 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION DIRECTING THE ALLOCATION OF 30TH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS ("CDBG"), IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $9,928,000, AND 28TH YEAR CLOSE OUTS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,211,639, FOR A TOTAL ALLOCATION NOT TO EXCEED $11,139,639, FOR THE 30TH CDBG PROGRAM YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2004. WHEREAS, federal regulations require the City of Miami ("City") to provide an opportunity for citizen participation in the planning process for the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("U.S. HUD") related grant activities; and WHEREAS, a series of public hearings were held in the City Commission Districts to solicit public participation in the planning process for the City's U.S. HUD related grant activities; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was duly advertised to provide public notice regarding the proposed use of said grant funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of 30th Year Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds, in an amount not to exceed $9,928,000, and 28th Year Close Outs, in an amount not to exceed $1,211,639, for a total allocation not to exceed $11,139,639, for the 30th CDBG Program Year beginning October 1, 2004, is directed as specified below: CDBG Funding Activity Allocation Grant Administration (20%) $ 1,985,600 Section 108 Loan Guarantee 1,100,000 Bldg. Dept. Unsafe Structures 200,000 Public Services * 1,489,200 Economic Development * 3,000,000 Housing Development * 3,364,839 Total CDBG Funding $11,139,639 * To be made available through the Request For Proposals process. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor{1}. Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
