HomeMy WebLinkAboutcover memoCITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM TO : The Honorable Mayor and Members of The Cit-GQmmissi Cr FROM: Joe A 1 la City a ager DATE : SUBJECT: 1J,.4rt i(f FILE : General Allocation of 30`h Year CDBG Funds REFERENCES : City Commission Agenda March 11, 2004 ENCLOSURES: RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution directing the allocation of $9,928,000 of the 30th Year Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds and $1,211,639 from 28th Year Close Outs, for a total allocation of 11,139,639 as specified herein for the 30th Program Year beginning October 1, 2004, subject to applicable City Code provisions. BACKGROUND: Under the entitlement formula, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ("U.S. HUD") has advised the City that the projected Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") entitlement for the 30th Program Year, which commences October 1, 2004, will be approximately $9,928,000. The Administration has identified $1,211,639 in close out funds from the 28th Year program activities. The Administration seeks City Commission direction relating to the proposed use of CDBG funds in the 30th Program Year to determine the appropriate funding levels to be made available through the 30th Year Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
