RE: Series 2000/Series 7 Migration Notification
Dear Customer,
JUN 1 9 2003
CRIME EC:EN

For 27 years, Printrak, A Motorola Company, has provided the public safety industry with market leading AFIS
solutions. We're pleased to report that our 8`" generation AFIS product, OmnitrakTM, has been well received in
the marketplace since its introduction in late 2001. Since its release, 22 customers in 9 countries have selected
Omnitrak as their next generation AFIS solution. Part of the success of Omnitrak is directly tied to its three-tier
architecture, which provides our customers with a great deal of flexibility for migration and implementation.
Additionally, Omnitrak has an architectural foundation that is based on industry standards which in turn provides
greater configuration flexibility. This allows customers the ability to personalize their system while staying on a
common system platform. The benefit of this is that customers can upgrade when new features and
functionalities are available in order to stay current with technology advancements.
During the past 6 months, we have concluded that we must put into place an aggressive Series 2000/Series 7-
system migration plan to move customers to Omnitrak. This is a result of 3 main factors:
1. Our hardware suppliers have notified us that they will no longer be able to supply key components for
the Series 2000/ Series 7 systems.
2. Software technology advances are occurring at an accelerated rate, which makes it increasingly difficult
for Printrak, to continue software support for solutions that were released 8 years ago (1995).
3. In order for our customers to benefit from our new innovations, such as improved speed , accuracy and
functionality, it is necessary for us to move customers to Omnitrak.
As a result, in order to move our solutions forward, Printrak has decided to focus its resources on current
(Omnitrak) and future software releases. This will ensure that Printrak users remain on the forefront of AFIS
technology. This notification is intended to inform you of how we propose to migrate our current AFIS Series
2000/Series 7 customers to the Omnitrak solution. Attached to this notification is our plan that identifies how
we will continue to support the Series 2000/Series 7systems through 2006. This plan is intended to assist you
with the migration planning process.
Our three- tier architecture will offer you increased flexibility and the ability to migrate your systems to our
Omnitrak solution. In order to assist you with this process, please take advantage of our sales resources, which
are available to you to guide you through the planning process.
Working together, we will ensure that we continue to provide our customers with the most reliable AFIS
solutions in the marketplace. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support. If
you have any questions regarding this notification, please contact your local sales representative or me directly.
Sincerely,
Darrin J. Reilly
