A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, ESTABLISHING A NEW
SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "2003 SUPPORTIVE SERVICES
GRANT," APPROPRIATING FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$251,071, FOR A ONE-YEAR PERIOD, CONSISTING OF A GRANT FROM THE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT,
THROUGH THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY HOMELESS TRUST, TO PROVIDE
OUTREACH, INFORMATION, REFERRAL, ASSESSMENT, AND PLACEMENT
SERVICES TO HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ACCEPT THE GRANT AND TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS,
IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR ACCEPTANCE OF
THE GRANT; AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF SAID GRANT FUNDS
FOR THE OPERATION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI HOMELESS ASSISTANCE
PROGRAM.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following Special Revenue Fund is established and resources are appropriated
as described below:

of Housing and Urban Development
through the Miami -Dade County
Homeless Trust

Section 2. The Appropriation is contingent upon receipt of the grant from the Miami -Dade
County Homeless Trust and the City Manager's acceptance.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept the grant from the United States
Department of Housing and Urban Development, through the Miami -Dade County Homeless
Trust, to provide outreach, information, referral, assessment, and placement services to homeless
individuals and to execute all necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for
acceptance of the grant.
Section 4. The expenditure of the grant funds is authorized{1} for the operation of the City of

Miami Homeless Assistance Program.
Section 5. These authorizations shall remain valid and outstanding even if the grant award is
reduced or increased.
Section 6. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature
of the Mayor.{2}
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
