HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-04-0140City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-04-0140 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 04-00172 Final Action Date: 3/11/2004 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "2004 ALLIANCE FOR HUMAN SERVICES GRANT," APPROPRIATING FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $40,000 EACH YEAR, FOR THREE (3) YEARS, FOR ATOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $120,000, CONSISTING OF A GRANT FROM THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES, ALLIANCE FOR HUMAN SERVICES, TO PROVIDE OUTREACH, INFORMATION, REFERRAL, ASSESSMENT, AND PLACEMENT SERVICES TO HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS WITHIN THE CITY OF MIAMI; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE GRANT AND TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY; AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF THE GRANT FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI HOMELESS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The following Special Revenue Fund is established and resources are appropriated as described below: Fund Title: 2004 Alliance for Human Services Grant Resources: Miami -Dade County Department of Human Services, Alliance for Human Services July 2004 July 2005 July 2006 Appropriation: $ 40,000 $ 40,000 $ 40,000 $120,000 Section 2. The Appropriation is contingent upon the receipt of the grant from the Miami -Dade County Department of Human Services, Alliance for Human Services and the City Manager's acceptance. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept the grant from Miami -Dade County Department of Human Services, Alliance for Human Services, to provide outreach, information, referral assessment, and placement services to homeless individuals within the City of Miami, and to execute all necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney. Section 4. Section 5. These authorizations shall remain valid and outstanding even if the grant award is reduced or increased. Section 6. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
