Arriola of Administrator/City Manager ayor and ssion mbers DATE: SUBJECT REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: FEB 13 2004 FILE : Resolution Authorizing Execution Revocable License Agreement Hispanic American Diabetes City Commission March 11, 2004 RECOMMENDATION: The administration recommends that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a Revocable License Agreement (the "Agreement"), in substantially the attached form, between the City of Miami and Hispanic American Diabetes Foundation (the "Licensee") for the use of approximately 286.52 square feet of office space, designated as Room 300, at the Manuel Artime Community Center. The monthly fee reflects the new rate of $5.81 per square foot for not -for -profit organizations, which translates to a monthly fee of $13 8.72. This resolution further grants Licensee a waiver to the first three months of fees from the effective date of the Agreement. BACKGROUND: On May 22, 2003, the City Commission passed Motion 03-604 granting the first three months of fees to the Hispanic American Diabetes Foundation at the Manuel Artime Center. At the time the City Commission passed this Motion there was no office space available suitable for Licensee's needs. The administration is in the process of relocating Art and Decoration, a tenant currently using Room 300, leaving the space available for Licensee's occupancy. The space contains approximately 286.52 square feet. Licensee has expressed interest to the City in occupying the aforesaid office space and is looking to provide art classes to the community free of charge. Financial Impact: There is negative financial impact to the general fund of the City due to the loss evenue of approximately $ 416.16 for the fees waived. JA/H/ /Memo CC-RLAHispanic American Diabetes
