HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-04-0116City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-04-0116 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 04-00105 Final Action Date: 2/26/2004 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF 28TH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") PROGRAM CLOSEOUT FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $138,890, FROM WORD OF LIFE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES IN DISTRICT 5 DURING THE 28TH PROGRAM YEAR, WHICH BEGAN ON OCTOBER 1, 2002; REALLOCATING THE AMOUNT OF $50,000 OF SAID FUNDS TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF GREATER MIAMI, INC., ("HABITAT FOR HUMANITY") FOR HOUSING SECURITY IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES FOR HOUSES BUILT BY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY IN DISTRICT 5, AND THE AMOUNT OF $88,890, TO THE DISTRICT 5 RESERVE ACCOUNT. WHEREAS, Resolution No. 02-774, adopted July 8, 2002, allocated 28th Year Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") Program Funds for economic development activities in the 28th Program Year, which began October 1, 2002, including funds, in the amount of $175,100, to Word of Life Community Development Corporation in District 5; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The transfer of 28th Year CDBG Program closeout funds, in the amount of $138,890, from Word of Life Community Development Corporation for economic development activities in District 5 during the 28th Program Year, and the reallocation of the amount of $50,000 of said funds to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami, Inc. ("Habitat for Humanity") for housing security improvement activities for houses built by Habitat for Humanity in District 5, and the amount of $88,890 to the District 5 Reserve Account, is authorized. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor{1}. If the Mayor vetoes this Ordinance, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
