RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution
authorizing the transfer of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds in the amount
of $138,890 from the closeout of the 28th Year CDBG agreement with Word of Life Community
Development Corporation and reallocating $50,000 of said funds to Habitat for Humanity of
Greater Miami, Inc. (Habitat) for housing security improvements to the houses built by Habitat
in District 5 and the balance of $88,890 to District 5 Reserve Account.
BACKGROUND:
On July 8, 2002, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 02-774 allocating 28th Year
CDBG funds for economic development activities in the 28th Program Year beginning October 1,
2002, including funds in the amount of $175,100 to Word of Life Community Development
Corporation in District 5. This contract is now closed.

It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution transferring 28th Year
CDBG closeout funds in the amount of $138,890 from Word of Life Community Development
Corporation for economic development activities in District 5 and reallocating $50,000 of said
funds to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami, Inc. for housing security improvements to the
houses built by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami, Inc. in District 5 and $88,890 to District
5 Reserve Account.
The proposed Resolution reallocates CDBG Program funds and does not have a budgetary
impact on the General Fund.
