HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-04-0100City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-04-0100 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 04-00201 Final Action Date: 2/26/2004 A RESOLUTION OF THE THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "FTAA REIMBURSEMENT FUND" AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $8,500,000, CONSISTING OF A GRANT FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF STATE, BUREAU OF DIPLOMATIC SECURITY TO REIMBURSE THE CITY OF MIAMI/ CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF POLICE FOR PROVIDING EXTRAORDINARY PROTECTIVE SERVICES FOR THE 2003 FREE TRADE AREA OF THE AMERICAS SUMMIT HELD IN MIAMI, FLORIDA, FROM NOVEMBER 17 TO NOVEMBER 21, 2003; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE GRANT AWARD AND TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, TO ACCEPT SAID GRANT. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The following Special Revenue Fund is established and resources are appropriated as described herein: Fund Title: FTAA REIMBURSEMENT FUND Resources: United States Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security $8,500,000 Appropriations: $8,500,000 Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept a grant from the United States Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security to reimburse the City of Miami/City of Miami Department of Police, for providing extraordinary protective services for the 2003 Free Trade Area of the Americas Summit, which was held in Miami, Florida, from November 17 to November 21, 2003, and to execute the necessary document(s) in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, to accept said grant. Section 3. The herein authorization shall remain valid and outstanding even if the anticipated grant award is reduced or increased. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 04-00201 (Version: 1) Printed On: 8/30/2016 File Number: 04-00201 Enactment Number: R-04-0100 Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
