A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER'S ENGAGEMENT OF URS CORPORATION
SOUTHERN, ("URS"), PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANTS, SELECTED FROM THE
LIST OF PRE -APPROVED GENERAL ENGINEERING FIRMS FOR THE DESIGN
DEVELOPMENT, PREPARATION OF CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND
CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE PROJECT
"NW 34TH AVENUE ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, B-4696," LOCATED IN
DISTRICT 1, MIAMI, FLORIDA ("PROJECT"), IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$95,820, BASED ON (1) THE SCOPE OF SERVICES AND SCHEDULE REQUIRED
FOR SAID PROJECT, AS SET FORTH IN THE WORK ORDER AUTHORIZATION,
ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, AND (2) TERMS AND CONDITIONS SET
FORTH IN THE AGREEMENT WITH URS PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION
NO. 01-560; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE WORK
ORDER AUTHORIZATION, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID
PURPOSE; AND ALLOCATING FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$95,820, FOR SERVICES AND EXPENSES TO BE INCURRED BY THE CITY OF
MIAMI FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM ("CIP") PROJECT NO. 341183
ENTITLED "LOCAL OPTION GAS TAX" AND CIP PROJECT NO. 341330 ENTITLED
"TRANSIT HALF -CENT SURTAX."
WHEREAS, the Administration has determined that professional services are required for the
project entitled "NW 34th Avenue Road Improvement Project, B-4696", located in District 1, Miami,
Florida, ("Project") in an amount not to exceed the sum of $95,820 detailed in the "Attachment No.1,"
Scope of Services, included in the Work Order Authorization attached and incorporated; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to execute a Work Order Authorization, in substantially the attached
form, for said purpose; and
WHEREAS, URS Corporation Southern, ("URS"), is a professional consultant with a general
engineering professional services agreement with the City of Miami dated September 29, 2001,
pursuant Resolution No. 01-560, approved on June 14, 2001; and
WHEREAS, URS has been selected for design development, preparation of construction
documents and construction engineering services for the Project; and
WHEREAS, funds for these services and expenses are available from Capital Improvements
Project ("CIP") No. 341183, entitled "Local Option Gas Tax" and CIP Project No. 341330 entitled
"Transit
Half -Cent Surtax;"
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:

Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager's engagement of URS, professional consultants, selected from the
list of pre -approved general engineering firms, approved by Resolution No. 01-560, is authorized {1}
for the design development, preparation of construction documents and construction engineering
services for the project "NW 34th Avenue Road Improvement Project, B-4696," located in District 1, at
specific costs to be determined by (1) the scope of services and schedule required for said project as
set forth in the Work Order Authorization, attached and incorporated, and (2) terms and conditions set
forth in the agreement with URS pursuant to Resolution No. 01-560, with funds, in an amount not to
exceed $95,820, for services and expenses to be incurred by the City of Miami allocated from CIP
No. 341183, entitled "Local Option Gas Tax and CIP No. 341330 entitled "Transit Half -Cent Surtax".
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
