CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING INSPECTION SUPPORT SERVICES

CONTRACT PURPOSE:
The purpose of this Memorandum is to describe the scope of work and the responsibilities of the
Consultant in connection with the Construction Engineering Services support for the above -
described project. This proposal is intended for the Consultant to act as an extension of staff on
behalf of the City of Miami.
This is an hourly based — not to exceed proposal, limited to the activities specified in Table 1,
additional services not specified but necessary to complete the scope of work shall be handle separate
with a supplemental agreement between the City and the Consultant.
The Consultant shall perform those engineering services described to provide for the Construction
Engineering Services support to the City's Department of Capital Improvements Program. It shall be
the Consultant's responsibility to utilize the very best engineering judgment, practices and principles
possible during the prosecution of the work commissioned under the contract. The Consultant shall
demonstrate good project management practices while working on this project. These include
communication with the City and others as necessary, management of time and resources, and
documentation. The Consultant shall set up and maintain throughout the design of the project a
contract file in accordance to City procedures.
The City will provide contract administration, management services, and technical reviews of all
work associated with the development of the contract. The City will provide job specific information
and/or functions as outlined in this contract.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
The description of services provided is in accordance to the request for additional services received
from the City on 10/1/03. For fee estimate purposes it is assumed that the construction of this project
will take approximately six (6) months to complete. During that period of time, it is assumed that the
following activities in connection with the construction of the projects will take place:

Note:
The following activities have been estimated to occur once a week for a period of six months.
• Periodic Site/Inspection Report (biweekly).
Constructions related items such as; testing of material inspections, approvals and certifications are to
be handle by others.
