HomeMy WebLinkAboutcover memoCITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM (), ete A TO : EROM: The Honorable ► • r and Members rod the City r ommissio Arriola f Administrator/City Manager DATE: SUBJECT : JAN 2 6 2004 REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: Proposed Resolution Increase of Contract for Self -Storage Facility for the Department of Police RECOMMENDATION It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution authorizing an increase in the contract, in an amount not to exceed $10,256.00, increasing the contract from $39,744 to $50,000 annually, with A+ Mini Storage, pursuant to Resolution No. 02-140, approved February 14, 2002, for the provision of a secured, air-conditioned self -storage facility for the Department of Police. Funding will be provided under the Police General Operating Budget, Account Code 001000.290201.6.610. BACKGROUND The Department of Police is requesting an increase in the contract for a self -storage facility in order to accommodate the additional needs of departmental units for the storage of their records. The department must retain records pursuant to Florida State law. Due to space and safety constraints not all of the vast volume of records can be stored within the department's building. This storage facility will also be utilized to store miscellaneous equipment and supplies.
