Funding will be from the Public Works General Operating Budget, Account Code 001000.311003.6.340 BACKGROUND The Department of Municipal Services / Public Works requires a hauling service company that will give prompt and efficient service for vactor truck debris hauling on a contractual, as -needed basis. Vendor will leave container until filled and then collect and haul to proper waste disposal facility. The Purchasing Department notified twenty-four (24) vendors, fourteen (14) downloaded the bid and the department received one (1) response bid. As a result of the sole bid received, Purchasing surveyed the market for prices to determine competitiveness of the prices offered by Waste Management of Dade County. Informally, Allied Waste/BFI indicated that their pricing would have been $225.00 for hauling a 10 cubic yard container and $45.00 per ton for disposal. Thus, the bid prices of $180.00 per 20 cubic yard container plus $60.78 per ton disposal fee offered by Waste Management of Dade County is lower than the pricing provided by Allied WastelBFI and overall very competitive. Therefore, award is recommended to the sole responsive and responsible bidder Waste Management of Dade County FI JAIL H A T: AT TIME OF NEED
